WHEREAS paediatric palliative care is a fundamentally different undertaking than palliative care for adults;
WHEREAS children facing life-limiting disease deserve equal access to high quality appropriate palliative care;
WHEREAS children shouldn’t have to move hundreds of kilometres away from home to access palliative care;
WHEREAS parents and siblings have unique needs that deserve dedicated comprehensive support;
WHEREAS families should not have to navigate barriers during the most difficult time of their lives.
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, PETITION THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO:
to pass the Nancy Rose Act and develop and implement a paediatric hospice palliative care strategy for Ontario to create equity of access to high quality paediatric hospice palliative care across Ontario including targeted supports for families.
